The Large Scale Pilots Potential Hackathon, which took place in Dresden, Germany, from 28 to 30 August 2024 and was attended by the National e-Health Authority, was a great success. The event was part of a wider European Union initiative aimed at enhancing interoperability in digital identity services across Europe, particularly in the context of the European Digital Identity (EUDI) and eIDAS (electronic IDentification, Authentication, and trust Services) regulations. It is noteworthy that Cyprus was the only country that participated in the eHealth sector, highlighting its leading position in this field at the European level. The event was hosted at the Vodafone Tech Innovation Center in Dresden and focused mainly on testing and demonstrating the potential of cross-border interoperability, and was attended by representatives from 16 countries. Representatives from the EAHY, Rafael Michael and the University of Cyprus, from the eHealth laboratory of the Department of Informatics, Konstantinos Yasemi and Cristian Canciu Ionut focused on the development and testing of interoperability of e-prescriptions (ePrescriptions) in European Health Systems. The ultimate goal is to ensure that e-prescriptions issued in one EU Member State can be recognised and executed in other Member States, using the European Digital Identity (EUDI) eWallet and complying with eIDAS standards. The results of the event will be processed and published at the end of September 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>
