The European Health Dataspace (EHDS) Regulation<\/a> was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 05\/03\/2025 and will enter into force on 26\/03\/2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To improve healthcare and boost research, the European Union has adopted the new European Health Data Space<\/strong> Regulation ( EHDS).<\/strong><\/p>\n

This regulation:<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2705 It gives citizens control and direct access to their personal health data in digital format, at no cost.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2705 It ensures that data follows citizens within the EU, facilitating care in any Member State.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2705 It sets strict rules on the use of anonymised or pseudonymised data for research, innovation and policy-making.<\/span><\/div>\n
The creation of the <\/span>European Health Data Space<\/strong> is an important step towards digital health and better use of data for the benefit of all citizens and science.<\/span><\/div>\n

The Regulation is an important milestone in the EU’s efforts to build a secure and efficient digital health ecosystem in the context of the European data strategy.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The EHDS will provide an integrated framework for access to and use of electronic health data in all Member States. It will boost innovation and competitiveness in the health sector for the benefit of all EU citizens.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
